BIOGRAPHY

Music gives a soul to the universe,
wings to the mind,
flight to the imagination and life to everything.

-Plato

At the age of 10 during school, a music group came to do a workshop, in that group was a clarinet and the sound just blew me away, I was so amazed by the sound and how it was played, I went back home that day and told my parents I wanted to learn the clarinet. From there I went onto learning the saxophone and the rest is history.

Through out my learning experience I have had some very inspiring teachers who have supported me in my musical life along with the support from family and friends. I feel my learning experience gives me good grounding to teach and inspire others in their musical life. I believe learning an instrument can greatly enrich peoples lives, increasing confidence and working as part of a group.

From a young age music has been a major part of my life, be it playing in the wind bands and rock bands at school to going onto further education and later working professionally as a show band musician on the cruise ships where I played saxophone clarinet and flute. During my time at university I started teaching privately on saxophone and clarinet with some of my pupils going for the ABRSM exams and going onto study music, while others wanted to learn just for fun.

I have a wide range of performance history, from playing in big bands and small jazz combos, to DUB bands, ska and funk to the occasional spot playing along side local DJ's.

Recently having my own solo work playing music from jazz to soul pop and rock.
